The Zhiyun Crane 2 is one of the first consumer grade camera gimbals to integrate a high quality follow focus wheel on the body. The Crane 2 brings a ±0.02° precision real time focus controller through a camera cable connection. This will help you always keep your subject in focus while shifting, opening up your camera for more point to point follows. Follow focus functions are only available for Canon cameras properly connected to the stabilizer with supplied cable.

The OLED display menu on control panel gives you instant an interaction between camera and the stabilizer. It can identify the Connection Status, Battery Level, Control Mode and Multiple Camera modes such as TV, AV, ISO and EV.

The Crane-2 supports DSLRs, mirrorless cameras, and camcorders weighing up to 7 pounds (3.175kg). Connect your camera (with an autofocus lens) to the gimbal by way of cable, then adjust focus using the big thumb-wheel on the hand-grip. The Crane-2 offers three levels of focus control, enabling you to fine-tune your focusing based on the lens used, and the shot itself.

Method 1: update Zhiyun Smooth 4 gimbal firmware by PC

Step 1: Search Zhiyun official website, and click 'Download'

Step 2: Select 'Firmware', and enter the firmware download interface.

Step 3: Choose the Zhiyun Smooth 4. If you can’t find it, you can click 'more' and search the model firmware you want.

Step 4: After select the gimbal model, enter the file download interface. And download two files “Calibration Upgrade Tool” and “Firmware”.

Step 5: Connect the the USB port on the stabilizer and the computer with USB Type-C cable.

Step 6: Install USB driver.

Step 7: Turn on the stabilizer and long pres joystick to enter stand by mode.

Step 8: Open the 'Zhiyun Gimbal Tools', then the calibration upgrade tool will recognize Smooth 4 and click 'Open Serial Port'.

Step 9: Click the top menu> firmware update.

Step 10: Select the package that has just unzipped-firmware, and start Smooth 4.

Method 2: update Zhiyun Smooth 4 gimbal firmware by ZY Play APP

Step 1: Download and install ZY Play APP on you mobile phone.

Step 2: Connect Zhiyun Smooth 4 to your phone.

Step 3: Open ZY Play APP, and enter 'APP Operations'.

Step 4: Follow the steps of 'APP Operations'

ZY Play will prompt user to update the firmware when the new one released

Before updating the firmware, please make sure the power level of both stabilizer and phone remain 50%. Do not turn off the stabilizer during process or exist from ZY Play. Meanwhile, keep an eye on the prompts of ZY Play.
